Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Guwahati & drive to Shillong 

Arrive Guwahati by flight/train, meet and greet at the airport, later proceed to KamakhyaDarshan, (guest can pay in cash at temple counter and do VIP Darshan)

After Darshan Drive to Shillong, approx. 3 hours’ drive, en-route, guest can enjoy the scenic beauty of Borapani (guest can take some pics here) also can enjoy Speed boating in the lake on direct payment.

Shillong: The romantic city of Shillong is one of the important tourist destinations in the northeast. The Romantic city, Shillong is often referred to as the “Scotland of the East” due to its striking similarity with the Scottish highlands. Shillong has its own charm, different from other hill stations, and presents a natural scenic beauty with waterfalls, brooks, pine groves, and gardens. The place, the people, the flora and fauna, and the climate all combine to make Shillong an ideal resort throughout the year. Local tribes like the Khasi, Jaintia, and Garo tribes add color to this hilly city.

Afternoon enjoys the excursion of Shillong, visiting Golf Ground, Don Bosco Museum one of the worth visiting museums in Indian, Museum focusing on local indigenous people & culture, with tools, clothing & artifacts on display.  (Closed on Sundays and Public Holidays state and Centre Govt, 0900 hrs to 1730 hrs), Lady Hydari Park, (closed on Mondays) it’s a Scenic, manicured green space with flowering gardens, a water feature & a modest zoo. Cathedral of Marry Laitlum and can also enjoy boating at Ward Lake (on direct payment) Evening at leisure for your own independent activities like shopping at Police Bazar,

Day 02: Shillong- Jowai

Morning proceeds to Jowai, Located in the Jaintia Hills district, Jowai is famous for its scenic setting and breathtaking views – like all other cities of the state. The place is a rich mix of heritage and cultures which reflects in the lifestyle of the town folks. Lakes are the main attraction of Jowai.

Visit Nartiang Village Monoliths: Jayantia Hills is home to Natiang Monoliths- a collection of Monoliths that are believed to the tallest in the world. The Monoliths in Jowai were erected to mark the reign of the erstwhile Jaintia Kings. Monoliths are upright structures carved from one single stone that serves as pillars.

However, the largest collection of monoliths lies here. Here lie the remnants of the ‘Summer Palace’. The archway of the site has been made using red bricks – and is quite a sight.

Also, proceed to visit KrangSuri falls (carry clothes and towel to enjoy bathing in the fall) to reach the falls, it’s long trekking of 40-45 minutes. 

After an excursion of the fall, need to return back to the car again by same trekking and drive to Shillong (Falls are dry in winters)

Day 03: Shillong  – Dawki

Morning proceeds for a day excursion of Mwallynong Village (approx., 2 hours’ drive on way)  andDawki

Mawlynnong The Cleanest Village in Asia, In eastern India’s Mawlynnong village, tidying up is a ritual that everyone – from tiny toddlers to toothless grannies – takes very seriously. This small, 600-odd person town in the Meghalaya region is renowned as the cleanest village in India. And for India, that’s really saying something. Discarded bottles and crumpled food wrappers mixed with cow dung – and worse – are simply part of the topography in most of the country. Mawlynnong is already way ahead of the curve, though. It was declared the cleanest village in Asia in 2003 and the cleanest in India in 2005 by Discover India magazine. This claim to fame stuck, and the village has become a regional legend and source of pride. Walk-in and all the typical rubbish is mysteriously, miraculously absent.

Living Root Bridge: Living Root Bridge is a Tree Bridge, while visiting  Meghalaya one must visit this beautiful place. Please wear good shoes which have a good grip as you will to go on stairs which are not smooth, avoid high heels and fancy shoes, sandals.

Later proceed for Dawki (Indo-Bangladesh Border) will provide you a serene view but will also add memories that you can cherish forever. The main attraction here apart from the extreme natural beauty and peace is the Dawki Bridge. It is a suspension bridge over the Umngot River and also serves as a place from where all tourists can enjoy some spectacular panoramic views.

Enjoy the boat ride on River Dawki on direct payment (one of the cleanest rivers on earth) also you can try some snacks selling from Bangladesh.

Evening drive to Cherrapunjee

Cherrapunji currently the historical name Sohra is more commonly used; alternative spellings are Cherrapunjee and Charrapunji), which is a sub-divisional town in the East Khasi Hills district in the Indian state of Meghalaya. It is credited as being the wettest place on Earth. However, nearby Mawsynram currently holds that record. Though, it still holds the world record for the most rainfall in a calendar month and in a year. It received 9,300 mm (366 in) in July 1861 and 26,461 mm (1,041.75 in) between 1 August 1860 and 31 July 1861.

Day 04: In Cherapunjee

Morning proceeds for the trekking experience will take you to the majestic double-decker living root bridge of Cherrapunji and also Rainbow Fall. (Please note, there are over 3000 stair which guest needs to go to reach Double-decker Bridge and return, it’s a whole day activity) 

It’s not advisable for Senior Citizens and also carries comfortable shoes, avoid High Heels and fancy shoes.

Day 05: Cherapunjee Sightseeing and drive to Guwahati

Morning proceeds for an excursion of Cherrapunjee and its nature:  the following places of tourist interest. Seven Sister Falls (Nohsngithiang Falls), Mawsmai Caves, (now two caves are operations)  Eco Park, Thangkharang Park, Thangkharang Park is the KhohRamrah rock, which is popularly known as the Shiva Rock. Placed right opposite the entry gate of the park, this huge rock is in the shape of a lingam, Nohkalikai Falls, MawkdokValley,

(Falls are active during Rainy Season)

Later in the afternoon drive to Guwahati visit Shillong Peak (Closed on Wednesday opens from 0900 to 1500 hrs)

Later visit Elephant Falls: Elephant Falls is situated on the outskirts of the main city of Shillong. It is almost 12 km away from the city chaos. The unique part of these falls is that it is a two-tier waterfall set in the dingles of the rocks. These curved falls have an eye-catching beauty and the surrounding green vegetation makes it a perfect picnic spot. This beautiful fall is made of three smaller falls and the combined stream adorns the fern-covered rocks below. Locals call it KaKshaid Lai PatengKhohsiew, the literal meaning of which is-‘Three Steps Water Falls’. The present and the more popular name have its origin in the British era when the Englishmen spotted a giant rock that looked like an elephant near the fall. Of course, while the colonial era is a long era but the name has stuck!

0830 hrs check out from hotel,  you will be transferred to Guwahati Airport/railway station to board your flight/train for your onwards journey, with loads of energy as you chose a trip where you could breathe healthy air and contributed job opportunities to many more people associated to organize your trip from this way or that way while your entire length of stay in North East of India.
